Mercedes Espinosa, APRN, FNP-BC
Mercedes Espinosa, APRN, FNP-BC, is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 34 years of nursing experience and a strong commitment to community-based and preventive healthcare. She became a licensed nurse practitioner in 2025 and currently provides care through a mobile primary care model with Primary Care Solutions, serving Medicare and insurance-based patients across Martin County, Florida. Her clinical focus includes preventive medicine, wellness visits, chronic disease management, and care coordination with community specialists.
Espinosa’s current role emphasizes accessible healthcare delivery for patients who may face barriers to traditional clinic-based services. Through her mobile practice, she brings care directly into the community, focusing on patient education, preventive screenings, medication management, and continuity of care. She also works closely with caregivers and families to connect them with local resources, ensuring comprehensive support for patients across all stages of life.
Her extensive clinical background spans multiple areas of healthcare. Early in her career, she spent five to six years in emergency nursing at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, followed by three years in pediatric care. She also developed more than 20 years of experience in home health nursing and specialized in wound care through her work with Wound Tech. This diverse experience has provided her with a broad and practical foundation in both acute and long-term patient care.
Espinosa earned her nursing education through Miami Dade Community College and the University of Miami and continues to advance her expertise through ongoing education. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at St. Thomas University, with an expected graduation in 2028. Her advanced studies reflect her commitment to expanding her clinical leadership, contributing to healthcare systems, and improving access to quality care for underserved populations.
Throughout her career, Espinosa has remained dedicated to compassionate, patient-centered care rooted in accessibility, prevention, and community engagement. Her transition into mobile primary care reflects both her professional growth and her mission to serve patients in a more direct and meaningful way. As she continues her doctoral studies, she aims to further influence nursing practice through leadership, education, and advocacy for improved healthcare delivery systems.
