Meggen Green, LLMSW
Meggen Green, LLMSW, is a dedicated Clinical Social Worker currently serving at a large long-term care nursing facility, where she works primarily with elderly residents in both long-term care and rehabilitation units. In her role, she manages a caseload of approximately 55 residents, advocating for their autonomy and ensuring that their individuality, dignity, and preferences are consistently respected. Meggen coordinates care across multiple domains—including dental, vision, audiology, and toenail care—while keeping families informed of appointments, changes, and equipment issues. She also participates actively in discharge planning, daily wellness checks, and the monitoring of mood changes related to dementia or Alzheimer’s, always emphasizing empathy, communication, and relationship-building in her approach.
Meggen’s passion for social work is rooted in her personal experiences and values. Inspired by her close relationship with her grandfather and the family emphasis on advocacy and compassion, she is committed to helping residents feel valued and “seen,” even on their most challenging days. Her philosophy centers on preserving the autonomy and emotional well-being of older adults, viewing each resident as a person who has lived a full life and deserves respect. Meggen’s focus on trust-building, rapport, and emotional support has become a cornerstone of her practice, allowing her to address grief, mood fluctuations, and daily stressors with sensitivity and skill.
Meggen holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Aurora University’s online program and completed her undergraduate studies at Central Michigan University. She gained extensive hands-on experience during her internship and post-internship work at Harbor Oak Hospital, a psychiatric facility, where she honed her crisis intervention skills and ability to rapidly establish trust with patients. Currently holding a limited license in social work and affiliated with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Meggen continues to grow as a clinical social worker committed to providing client-centered care, advocacy, and evidence-based interventions for the elderly population she serves.
