Meaghan Fournier, RN
Meaghan Fournier, RN, is a dedicated and emerging nursing professional who recently graduated from Lander University and is currently completing her nurse residency program at Prisma Health. She works on a neuroscience multi-specialty unit, where she provides care for patients recovering from strokes, traumatic brain injuries, and other complex neurological conditions. Early in her career, she has already demonstrated strong clinical judgment, compassion, and adaptability in high-acuity care environments.
During her academic training, Meaghan developed a strong foundation in evidence-based nursing practice and leadership. She actively participated in the Student Nurses Association, serving in an executive role, and contributed to both a quality improvement initiative and a nursing research project focused on dementia care, which she hopes to publish. These experiences strengthened her commitment to advancing patient care through research, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Meaghan’s clinical interests are centered on neuroscience and emergency nursing, with a strong passion for trauma care. She is currently pursuing additional certifications, including stroke care and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), as she continues to expand her clinical expertise. She is particularly drawn to fast-paced, high-pressure environments and aspires to transition into emergency department nursing in the future, where she can be among the first responders providing critical stabilization and reassurance to patients.
Outside of her professional work, Meaghan values creativity and community engagement. She plays bass guitar in a local music group, which provides a meaningful balance to the demands of her nursing career. Inspired by mentorship during her studies at Lander University, she continues to pursue ambitious goals with confidence and dedication, positioning herself as a promising and compassionate contributor to the future of healthcare.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most about nursing is my passion for helping people, especially in trauma and emergency care settings. I am drawn to the emergency environment because I want to be the first person present for patients during critical moments—helping to stabilize them, ease their anxiety, and ensure they feel safe and cared for. I value the opportunity to support patients during some of the most frightening and uncertain times of their lives, when they may not understand what is happening to them. Being able to provide calm, focused, and life-saving care in those moments is incredibly meaningful to me, and I thrive in the fast-paced nature of emergency medicine.
