Mary Hicks, MBA, CADC, is a counselor and therapist certified since February 2010 with extensive experience in substance abuse treatment and traumatic brain injury support. She is also a certified Neurofeedback Specialist and BrainCore affiliate, with neurofeedback now serving as a central focus of her clinical work. Mary currently operates as a sole practitioner, contracting services to multiple agencies, and has previously owned and operated her own behavioral health agencies. Her professional mission is rooted in providing evidence-based care, stability, and hope to individuals navigating addiction, trauma, and recovery.

In addition to her clinical practice, Mary is an experienced educator and public speaker in the substance use field. She has delivered presentations across a range of facilities, with a focus on substance use recovery and faith-based healing approaches. Her work as a Clinical Services Supervisor, Program Director, and consultant reflects a strong leadership background in behavioral health systems, program development, and direct client care. She also maintains certification in CPR, further supporting her commitment to safety and comprehensive care.

Mary holds a Master of Business Administration (2013) from Corban University, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Liberty University, and an Associate of Applied Science from BCTCS. Alongside her healthcare career, she is represented in the entertainment industry as a film and television actor, theatrical performer, lifestyle model, promo model, and brand ambassador through professional talent agencies. Her diverse career path combines clinical expertise, education, leadership, and creative performance, all grounded in her personal inspiration to help individuals find healing, direction, and hope through life’s challenges.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy the most about what I do is seeing someone get the aha moments, when they absolutely realize that they can change, there is hope, and then they start moving in that direction. There's nothing more rewarding than that in my entire life.
