Martina Gilbert, MS, RN, CMSRN
Martina Gilbert, MS, RN, CMSRN, is a seasoned Clinical Nurse Specialist at Stony Brook Medicine and an Adjunct Professor at Stony Brook University. With over two decades of experience in nursing, she has dedicated her career to enhancing patient advocacy, improving clinical processes, and advancing healthcare administration. Her work is grounded in interdisciplinary collaboration, evidence-based practice, and a relentless pursuit of excellence in patient care.
Martina’s educational foundation includes a Master’s in Health Care Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Utica University, as well as Associate degrees in Nursing and Business Administration. Her academic and professional journey has equipped her with the analytical, leadership, and management skills necessary to drive meaningful improvements in healthcare delivery and nurse education.
Throughout her career, Martina has assumed numerous leadership roles, including leading the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses (NAON) Virtual Affiliate, co-chairing the Nurse Specialist Committee, and serving as a facilitator for the Medical-Surgical Nurse Fellowship. She is also recognized as an Honored Listee in Marquis Who’s Who, reflecting her ongoing commitment to professional excellence and service.
Martina attributes her success to her love of learning and a deep curiosity to understand the “why” behind every process and decision. This drive fuels her passion for mentoring the next generation of nurses and empowering professionals to reach their full potential. Outside of her clinical and academic work, she contributes to philanthropic initiatives and professional development programs, including organizing the annual Nurses Making Money Moves conference, a platform designed to inspire nurses to explore entrepreneurial opportunities and career growth.
