Marissa Gonzalez, BSN, RN, OCN
Marissa Gonzalez, BSN, RN, OCN, is a dedicated oncology nurse navigator with nine years of nursing experience, currently serving patients at Daymark Health. Throughout her career, she has worked in diverse healthcare settings, including inpatient, post-acute, outpatient, and in-home care. Her expertise spans medical-surgical nursing, chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, and oncology patient navigation. Passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centered care, Marissa works closely with interdisciplinary teams—including nurse navigators, pharmacists, hematologists, and oncologists—to ensure each patient receives individualized, coordinated care throughout their cancer journey.
Marissa began her nursing career at Miriam Hospital in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, refining her skills on a medical-surgical floor caring primarily for stroke patients. Her personal connection to oncology care grew after her grandmother’s battle with cancer, inspiring her to focus on supporting oncology patients. She transitioned to South County Health, where she administered chemotherapy and immunotherapy and helped restructure the oncology preceptorship program to guide and mentor new nurses. She also gained additional experience at Kent Hospital’s infusion center, rounding out her expertise in oncology care and patient education.
Beyond nursing, Marissa pursues her passion for photography as a business branding photographer through Marissa Ashton Images. She specializes in capturing professional images for companies and nurse entrepreneurs, combining her creative talents with her dedication to helping others succeed. With her dual focus on patient care and creative entrepreneurship, Marissa exemplifies a commitment to excellence, empathy, and mentorship in both her professional and personal pursuits.

What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is the opportunity to help people and make a meaningful difference in their lives. I am also passionate about education and hope to one day combine my clinical experience with teaching, sharing knowledge with the next generation of healthcare professionals.
