Maria Doran-Threat, MSN, APRN, CNP, WCNP-C, is a highly experienced Family Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of nursing practice across oncology, functional medicine, wound care, and integrative health. She currently works as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner with Allina Health Cancer Institute in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, while also serving as the founder and board-certified provider at WellPathNP LLC, a virtual functional and integrative medicine clinic. Her clinical approach emphasizes whole-person care, combining conventional oncology expertise with functional and lifestyle-based treatment strategies.

Maria’s extensive clinical background includes over a decade of service at Mayo Clinic, where she worked from 2012 to 2025. During this time, she served in multiple advanced roles, including hematology oncology nurse practitioner, instructor in oncology, charge nurse, preceptor, and Magnet Nurse Champion. From 2019 to 2025, she functioned as the sole full-time provider at the Mayo Clinic Health System Cancer Center in Fairmont, Minnesota, delivering comprehensive oncology care to a rural community. Her work involved chemotherapy management, hematology oncology treatment, and leadership in clinical quality initiatives.

Her educational foundation includes an MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Concordia University Wisconsin, a BSN from the University of Phoenix, an ADN through Northland Community and Technical College, and her LPN training from Northwest Technical College. She is certified in Functional Medicine, Oncology and Chemotherapy Nursing, and Wound Care, and also holds certification in sharp debridement. Throughout her career, she has developed expertise in hematology oncology, wound care management, disease prevention, hormone optimization, and metabolic health.

In addition to her oncology practice, Maria is the founder of WellPathNP LLC, where she provides telehealth-based functional medicine services. Her offerings include medical weight loss using GLP-1 therapies, hormone replacement therapy, thyroid management, gut health optimization, and PEMF therapy using FDA-cleared technology to support healing, reduce inflammation, and improve chronic conditions. She is passionate about integrating traditional oncology care with alternative and supportive therapies, particularly for patients experiencing treatment side effects who seek more holistic options.
