What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is the diversity and flexibility that nursing offers. I love that my career allows me to move seamlessly between clinical practice, education, and administrative roles, which keeps my work dynamic and engaging. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn, grow, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients, students, and colleagues.
I’m particularly inspired by the opportunity to impact care at a system level. For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I had the chance to contribute to rewriting the county school nursing manual, helping shape policies and procedures that affect the health and safety of the entire student population. Moments like that remind me that nursing is not only about direct patient care—it’s also about improving processes, guiding teams, and influencing healthcare delivery on a broader scale.
