Mahnaz Nouri, MD
Dr. Nouri is a clinician-scientist dedicated to advancing eye health through both patient care and research. With over 15 years of experience, she specializes in managing complex ocular diseases while recognizing systemic manifestations of disease through comprehensive eye examinations. Her expertise spans corneal disorders, anterior segment diseases, refractive surgery, and dry eye management.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology (Magna Cum Laude with Distinction) and her Medical Degree through the early admission program at Boston University. Dr. Nouri began her research career at Massachusetts General Hospital as an undergraduate and continued her focus on ophthalmic research during medical school, receiving a grant from the Fight for Sight Division of the National Society to Prevent Blindness.
Following medical school, Dr. Nouri completed a Clinical and Surgical Fellowship in Corneal Diseases, Transplantation, and Refractive Surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary/Harvard Medical School. She subsequently served as a Research Affiliate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at MIT, where she developed models for dry eye and explored chemical modifications of drugs for targeted and prolonged ocular delivery.
Dr. Nouri has contributed extensively to clinical practice, teaching, and scientific literature, including publications and textbook chapters. She is an active member of leading ophthalmology and vision research organizations, including ARVO, ASCRS, AAO, IOSS, TFOS, and the Keratoprosthesis Study Group. Recognized as a Top Doctor and a Compassionate Care Provider, her current research focuses on the anterior segment, cornea, and dry eye disease.
