Luis H. Rodríguez Ocasio is a dedicated mental health professional and emerging leader in Community-Social Psychology, currently pursuing his Master of Arts at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. With a strong focus on community violence, group dynamics, and participatory action research, Luis combines academic rigor with practical experience to address the complex mental health needs of diverse populations. His work is grounded in a commitment to social justice and improving outcomes for underserved communities across Puerto Rico.

Luis has extensive experience providing therapeutic services in both clinical and community settings. As an Addiction and Mental Health Therapist at Hogar CREA Inc., he leads individual and group therapy sessions for adults and adolescents, integrating evidence-based treatments with Medication-Assisted Therapy. He has also contributed as a counselor and educator for youth development programs and collaborated on research assessing social capital and disaster preparedness. Across his roles, Luis has consistently demonstrated the ability to design, implement, and evaluate interventions that improve mental health and promote well-being for vulnerable populations.

Beyond his professional practice, Luis is a committed advocate and volunteer. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Asociación de Psicología de Puerto Rico, representing student interests and spearheading initiatives such as the ConTacto Backpacks program, which provided educational resources to thousands of low-income students. His leadership extends to mentoring, organizing community service projects, and promoting inclusive policies, reflecting a deep dedication to strengthening both community resilience and the field of psychology in Puerto Rico.
