Chiropractic Intern
Elevate Spine and Sport
The Woodlands, TX 77380

Dr. Leann Ramirez is a Doctor of Chiropractic specializing in sports-oriented care, women’s health, and performance rehabilitation. Her journey into chiropractic care was inspired by her family’s experiences with holistic healing, including her uncle, who regained full arm function through acupressure after a severe dislocation. This early exposure to the body’s capacity for recovery sparked her lifelong interest in movement, healing, and functional wellness.

At age 16, while competing in powerlifting and cheerleading, Dr. Ramirez experienced a serious back injury that left her legs numb. After being advised to undergo surgery, she sought alternative care that allowed her to continue pursuing her athletic passions. This experience solidified her interest in understanding the body’s healing potential and led her to study kinesiology at the University of Texas at San Antonio, followed by a Bachelor’s in Anatomy and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Parker University in Dallas, Texas. She is currently completing a Master’s in Functional Nutrition.

A lifelong athlete and former Team USA powerlifter, Dr. Ramirez competed at the world level and set multiple records. During her time at Parker University, she served as Vice President of the Rehab 2 Performance Club, giving weekly presentations on integrating rehabilitation into chiropractic care. She also gained extensive experience as a strength and conditioning coach, workshop instructor, and referee for state-level powerlifting competitions.

Now practicing at Elevate Spine and Sport in The Woodlands, Texas, Dr. Ramirez combines evidence-based chiropractic care with certifications in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), Dry Needling, and Functional Range Conditioning (FRC). She specializes in treating athletes and women across all life stages, with a focus on pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and strength training. She is passionate about empowering women to maintain functional independence and optimal health through movement and resistance training.

Dr. Ramirez is recognized for her dedication to patient education and holistic care, emphasizing individualized treatment plans that integrate rehabilitation, performance enhancement, and lifestyle strategies. Her goal is to help patients achieve lasting health, recover from injuries, and maximize physical performance while maintaining quality of life at every stage.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

I love every second of being a chiropractor. What I find most exciting about chiropractic care is the variety of approaches—some practitioners are more philosophical, while others, like myself, focus on evidence-based methods. I strive to be evidence-inspired, using research to guide patient care while appreciating the diversity of approaches that also positively impact patients’ lives. I am especially passionate about movement, rehabilitation, and strength sports, which naturally drew me toward a career as a rehab chiropractor. Being the first point of contact for my patients allows me to spend meaningful time with them, make a real difference in their care, and help them continue doing the activities they love.
