Dr. Leanne Katz Levin, PhD, is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in Health Psychology and Neuropsychology, with more than 30 years of experience dedicated to patient-centered care. Licensed in South Africa in 2001 and later completing her PhD in Clinical Psychology in the United States, she has built an international career focused on chronic illness management, neurological conditions, and caregiver support. Since 1995, Dr. Levin has worked extensively with patients facing pulmonary and cardiac disease, chronic pain, dementia, psychiatric conditions, trauma, and domestic violence. Her philosophy centers on empowering patients to become experts in their own lived experience, recognizing that meaningful healing begins when individuals feel heard and understood.

Dr. Levin currently serves at New York Medical College as Director of Patient Care and faculty in the Foundations of Clinical Medicine program. She is also a Professor of Psychology at Fielding Graduate University, where she teaches doctoral students in clinical psychology and leads academic training initiatives. In addition, she is Chief Clinical & Development Officer and Co-founder of Health Matrix Strategies and consults to the pharmaceutical industry through Amplity Health, specializing in corporate training and development. Her work bridges academic medicine, clinical practice, and healthcare systems improvement, always with a focus on elevating standards of compassionate, evidence-based care.

An active leader in her field, Dr. Levin is a board member of the New York State Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and maintains membership in the American Psychological Association and the International Association for the Study of Pain. She lectures nationally and internationally and has published extensively, contributing 11 scholarly articles in the past year alone. Throughout her career, she has advocated for greater recognition and support of caregivers, emphasizing that improved caregiver education leads to better patient adherence, fewer hospitalizations, and lower healthcare costs. Whether teaching physicians, mentoring doctoral students, consulting globally, or working directly with patients and families, Dr. Levin’s mission remains unwavering: to improve healthcare by centering it on the human experience.
