What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most about practicing healthcare is the opportunity to connect with each individual I care for and support them in making their own choices. I love meeting new residents and assuring their families that their loved ones are in compassionate and capable hands. My approach is centered on helping each person achieve what they can at their own pace, without pushing them to do what I think they should. Whether it’s a resident who doesn’t want a full bath but enjoys having their nails done, or simply sharing conversation about their family and life experiences, I find meaning in comforting them and working at a pace that respects their needs. It takes patience, empathy, and dedication, and while it’s some of the hardest work, it’s also the work I love most.
