Laura Deppen, ADN

Laura Deppen is an accomplished nursing professional with over four decades of experience in healthcare. Her journey began as an X-ray technician assistant, an early exposure to medical imaging that fueled her curiosity about the human body and inspired her to pursue nursing. She earned a degree in human biology from Bakersfield College, followed by an associate’s degree in nursing, and is now advancing her education with a Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas Arlington. Laura is also preparing for certifications in case management and utilization review, reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning and expanding her expertise for future remote practice opportunities.

Guided by a deep respect for the nursing profession instilled by her mother, Laura has built a career that blends technical skill with compassionate leadership. She has served in diverse clinical environments, including acute care rehabilitation, where she educated patients and families through stroke recovery programs. Laura has also contributed to shaping the next generation of clinicians by lecturing on post-acute care services at community colleges and skilled nursing facilities. Currently, Laura serves as Director of Nursing at Dignity Home Health & Hospice in Nipomo, California, where she has held leadership roles for over a decade. She oversees discharge planning, post-acute care services, and clinical liaison activities across five major hospitals on the Central Coast, ensuring smooth patient transitions and comprehensive care delivery. Her expertise in hospice care, case management, and multi-platform EMR documentation makes her a trusted leader and resource for hospital teams, patients, and families alike. Laura continues to explore innovative ways to extend her impact, including remote hospice care and telephone triage, demonstrating her enduring commitment to compassionate, patient-centered healthcare.
