Laticia Coney, also known as Leticia, is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) whose career in healthcare has spanned since 2017, combining agency-based travel assignments with full-time clinical roles. She has provided care across a wide range of settings, including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, nursing homes, and hospital units. During the COVID-19 period, her hospital experience included pulmonary care support, further strengthening her clinical adaptability and resilience in high-acuity environments. Her work is grounded in her guiding values of love, compassion, patience, and truth.

Throughout her career, Laticia has served in multiple healthcare settings across Georgia, including Athens and Warner Robins, with hospital experience at Hawkinsville Hospital and Houston County Medical Center. She was certified as a CNA in Martinez, Georgia, and has continued to build her experience through both direct employment and staffing agency assignments that allow her to serve in diverse, fast-paced clinical environments. She specializes in long-term geriatric care, with a strong focus on memory care for patients living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. She is also deeply committed to patient advocacy and has expressed interest in advancing her role by pursuing training as an ombudsman to better protect and support residents’ rights.

In addition to her clinical work, Laticia has pursued education in healthcare administration coursework at Tennessee State University, and she also holds a Georgia substitute teacher certification. Her professional and community involvement extends to volunteer service with organizations such as NAMI-related initiatives, local volunteer clinics in Macon and Houston County, Shepherd Center fundraising events in Forest Park, and the American Red Cross, in addition to long-standing service with Habitat for Humanity. What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is being there for those in need and providing care, comfort, and support during some of the most vulnerable moments in a person’s life. I find meaning in building trust with patients, advocating for their well-being, and making a positive difference through compassion, patience, and attentive care.
