She began her nursing career in 2016 after earning her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification from Baton Rouge Community College, where she also served as president of her nursing class.

Driven to advance her expertise, Lakishia earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Chamberlain University in 2024. Throughout her career, she has gained diverse clinical experience across multiple healthcare settings, including long-term acute care, medical-surgical units, emergency medicine, observation units, and inpatient rehabilitation. This broad exposure has equipped her with strong clinical judgment and the ability to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Before entering the nursing profession, Lakishia worked as a licensed cosmetologist and dental assistant, experiences that honed her interpersonal skills and reinforced her commitment to helping others.
