Lacretia Williams, RN

Registered Nurse
MUSC Health
Camden, SC 29020

Lacretia Williams is a Registered Nurse at MUSC Health in Camden, South Carolina, where she works in Med-Surg Orthopedics and has been a dedicated member of the organization for the past five years. She is entering her sixth year in nursing and continues to find deep purpose and fulfillment in her profession. Lacretia holds an Associate’s degree from Central Carolina Technical College and a Bachelor’s degree from Capella University, and she is also certified in wound care, further strengthening her clinical expertise and commitment to high-quality patient care.

Her journey into nursing was deeply personal and inspired by her experience caring for her grandmother during her battle with colon cancer. A hospice nurse who provided compassionate end-of-life care and ongoing family support left a lasting impression on her and ultimately shaped her calling to the profession. To ensure nursing was truly her path, Lacretia built her foundation step by step—beginning with internships in nursing homes, becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant, and later working as a Medical Assistant before advancing to become a Registered Nurse.

In addition to her clinical work at MUSC Health, Lacretia is also an entrepreneur and community advocate. She recently launched her own non-medical home care business, Divine Healing Home Care, which provides supportive services such as assistance with activities of daily living, feeding, bathing, medication reminders, companionship, and respite care for families in need. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she serves as a church secretary supporting youth initiatives and is often sought out within her community for nursing guidance, including at job fairs, reflecting her reputation as a trusted caregiver and leader.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

I love working in Med-Surg Orthopedics. When asked if I like it, I said I love it. What really drives me is the same compassion that inspired me to become a nurse in the first place that hospice nurse who cared for my grandmother showed me how powerful it is to not just take care of patients, but to support their families through difficult times. That's what I want to bring to every patient I serve, whether it's in the hospital or now through my new home care business, where I can help people heal in the comfort of their own homes.
