Kisha Doebler, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Kisha Doebler, PMHNP-BC, is a dedicated and compassionate psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner committed to elevating the standard of care in mental health. Board certified in 2022, Kisha brings over a decade of clinical experience to her practice. She began her nursing career after earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baptist Memorial College of Health Sciences in 2011 and passing her boards in 2012. She later advanced her expertise by completing a Master of Science in Psychiatric Nursing at Walden University, preparing her to provide comprehensive care across the lifespan.
Kisha currently serves patients at Forward Counseling and also offers part-time services with Headway, providing both in-person and virtual care. Her clinical practice covers a wide spectrum of psychiatric conditions, with particular expertise in ADHD, depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar spectrum disorders, and women’s mental health. She integrates trauma-informed care, lifestyle-based strategies, and holistic approaches to ensure her patients receive personalized, evidence-based treatment that addresses both mental and physical wellness.
Her approach to care blends clinical precision with genuine empathy. Kisha emphasizes clear communication, patient education, and collaborative treatment planning. She empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their mental health by explaining medication options, therapeutic pathways, and integrative wellness strategies. She also draws on additional experience in fertility and hormonal mental health, geriatric psychiatry, and integrative approaches including nutrition, fitness, and overall wellness support.
Kisha’s commitment to equitable and compassionate care is deeply rooted in her personal experiences. Early in life, she witnessed the mistreatment of individuals living with HIV and AIDS, which inspired a lifelong dedication to treating every patient with dignity. She actively advocates for underserved and stigmatized communities, striving to ensure that mental health care is accessible, inclusive, and human-centered for all.
In addition to her clinical work, Kisha is engaged in professional development and multidisciplinary collaboration. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Canadian Nurses Association. Looking ahead, she aims to expand her impact through public speaking and educational initiatives, raising awareness about mental health and supporting the training of future nurses. What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I most enjoy building meaningful relationships with my patients and helping them navigate their mental health journeys. It’s incredibly rewarding to see individuals gain insight, resilience, and confidence through personalized care, therapy, and support.
