Kipling J. Cummins, CCRN, RN, BSN

Kipling Cummins is an accomplished Trauma Program Manager Consultant and Registered Nurse known for his leadership, clinical expertise, and commitment to advancing patient care. Based in Los Gatos, California, he brings extensive experience across trauma, critical care, and cardiovascular intensive care, supported by a strong foundation in healthcare consulting, program management, and organizational leadership. His career reflects a rare blend of frontline clinical excellence and strategic program oversight, shaped by years of service in high-acuity environments including Stanford Health Care, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, and major trauma centers throughout California.

Kipling has built a reputation for stepping into complex, high-pressure situations and guiding organizations to successful outcomes. Notably, he was recruited on short notice to lead Kaweah Delta Medical Center through its pending Level III ACS-COT trauma program review—successfully securing re-verification and restoring critical care pathways for Central California patients. He also played a pivotal role in re-establishing certification for a high-volume HCA trauma center in the South Bay, earning commendations for his contributions. In addition to his trauma program leadership, Kipling has served as a Charge Nurse in the CVICU at Stanford Health Care, where he supports open-heart and transplant ICU operations with precision, collaboration, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Dedicated to lifelong learning and professional growth, Kipling is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Nursing at Duke University, specializing in Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner studies. His background as a former professional athlete further enriches his approach to leadership, self-motivation, and teamwork. Outside of his clinical work, he has contributed to community initiatives through volunteer roles with the American Cancer Society and as a medical advisor for local sports organizations.
