Kimberly DeLong, BSN, RN

Kimberly is a dedicated registered nurse with eight years of experience providing compassionate, patient-centered care within the VA healthcare system. She currently works in inpatient rehabilitation at Jack C. Montgomery VA Hospital, where she supports primarily geriatric veterans as they recover, regain independence, and prepare to return home. Kimberly is deeply fulfilled by watching her patients progress and takes pride in building meaningful connections with those she serves.

Kimberly earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Connors State College in 2017 and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing through Western Governors University in 2023. She has spent her entire nursing career at the VA, including the past five years in inpatient rehabilitation, developing strong clinical skills and a deep understanding of veteran care. In recognition of her exceptional dedication and compassion, she received the DAISY Award in 2025 and has been nominated numerous times throughout her career.

Raised by two nurses, Kimberly’s approach to care is rooted in empathy, advocacy, and the importance of truly listening to patients. Her early life experiences caring for others shaped her commitment to nursing and reinforced her belief that compassionate attention is at the heart of quality healthcare. Outside of work, Kimberly is deeply family-oriented and actively involved in supporting her children’s education, volunteerism, and personal growth.
