Kim Heller, RN
Kim Heller RN represents the modern nursing professional, blending extensive clinical experience with corporate wellness and community leadership. With more than 25 years in neonatal intensive care and over a decade in health outreach, she has dedicated her career to advancing patient care, preventive health, and wellness education. Her professional path reflects a commitment to service, adaptability, and advocacy for individuals and communities alike.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University, Heller began her career in hospital settings, developing expertise in neonatal intensive care. Caring for the most vulnerable patients shaped her clinical skills and reinforced her commitment to evidence-based, compassionate care. Early influences from family nurses and the legacy of Clara Barton inspired her lifelong dedication to the nursing profession.
Following Hurricane Katrina, Heller transitioned from hospital work to focus on family while maintaining her professional credentials. This period became a catalyst for her shift into corporate wellness and community health. Over the past 12 years at Ochsner Corporate Wellness, she has conducted on-site medical screenings, preventive care initiatives, and individualized consultations, connecting participants to primary care and community health resources, including partnerships with organizations such as the Drew Brees Foundation.
Beyond her clinical and wellness work, Heller is a dedicated community leader. As president of CCSEC, she supports initiatives including fundraising, the Clothe a Child program for Head Start, and student creativity contests. Balancing her professional commitments with her children’s educational journeys, she continues to explore opportunities to expand her impact in nursing, health promotion, and community engagement, embodying a career defined by service, leadership, and compassion.
