Kevin Ehrhart, MD

Kevin M. Ehrhart, M.D. is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with extensive experience in all aspects of orthopaedics and sports medicine. He specializes in arthroscopic and open shoulder surgery, as well as advanced techniques in knee and hip replacement, including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures. Dr. Ehrhart has maintained an active private practice at Santa Monica Orthopaedic Group (SMOG) for over 20 years, providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Dr. Ehrhart has held numerous leadership roles at St. John’s Health Center, including Chief of Staff, Chairman of the Department of Surgery, and member of the hospital’s Board of Directors. His commitment to advancing the field of orthopaedics extends to teaching, serving as a Clinic Instructor with UCLA School of Medicine and contributing to educational programs through the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has also been recognized as a Super Doctor in Southern California (2022).

He earned his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine (1974) and completed his internship and residency in surgery and orthopaedic surgery at UCLA School of Medicine (1975–1979). Dr. Ehrhart is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (1980). His clinical expertise includes uni-compartment (partial) knee replacements, robotic (MAKO) hip and knee replacements, robotic hip and knee reconstruction, and minimally invasive knee replacements, combining technical precision with a focus on patient outcomes and satisfaction.
