Katherine M. “Kate” Barry Biles, CHCP, is a distinguished medical education professional with more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Based in Branchburg, New Jersey, she has built a career specializing in oncology, hematology, rare disease, immunology, virology, and women’s health, with a focus on advancing healthcare professional knowledge, competence, and confidence. Kate is recognized for her results-driven approach, combining strategic insight with adult learning principles to maximize the impact of educational initiatives across the healthcare landscape.
Kate is the founder and principal consultant of KMGB Insights Consulting Services, LLC, where she advises medical education providers and pharmaceutical supporters on grant strategy, proposal development, outcomes assessment, and compliant collaboration. Through her consulting work, she helps align educational programs and sponsorships with therapeutic area strategies, ensures rigorous outcomes assessment, and provides actionable insights to cross-functional teams. Kate continues to pursue senior industry leadership roles while expanding her consulting practice, leveraging her expertise to elevate the quality and effectiveness of continuing medical education.
Throughout her career, Kate has held Associate Director-level roles at major pharmaceutical organizations, including Novartis, Regeneron, Takeda, and Bristol Myers Squibb. She has extensive experience managing independent medical education grants, fellowships, third-party research awards, and medical sponsorships, including multi-million-dollar budgets. Kate’s work emphasizes evidence-based education with the ultimate goal of improving patient care through practical, clinically relevant learning.
Earlier in her career, Kate contributed to scientific publications at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, supporting early protease inhibitor manuscripts, and worked in medical and college textbook publishing at W.W. Norton & Company in New York City. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the College of the Holy Cross and holds the Certified Healthcare CPD Professional (CHCP) credential, a leading certification for professionals working in continuing education in healthcare. Her professional engagement includes service on the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEHP) as co-chair of its Benchmarking Committee and on the editorial board of its publication, the Alliance Almanac.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I find the greatest reward in helping healthcare providers and their patients, particularly those navigating cancer and other serious conditions. Being able to provide education that moves the needle on patient care is incredibly meaningful to me and keeps me passionate about my work every day.
