Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is the opportunity to connect with people and provide education. Education is often overlooked, but it is a critical part of patient care. I work with patients at some of the most vulnerable times in their lives—whether facing unexpected diagnoses or complex medical situations. In my specialty, these moments often involve life-or-death decisions for both mother and baby. My goal is to give patients the knowledge they need to make informed decisions in emotionally challenging circumstances. Whether it’s discussing survival options for a 23- or 24-week infant or guiding families through difficult maternal health decisions, I believe education is paramount. I am inspired by healthcare providers who take the time to teach and empower their patients, and that is the standard I strive to uphold every day.
