Julia Bossie, MSN, RN, CNL, CEN, PCRN, CPEN, TCRN
Julia Bossie is a dedicated and innovative nursing professional with over two decades of experience in emergency care. She began her healthcare journey as a dialysis tech before discovering her passion for emergency nursing. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kennesaw State University, Julia spent ten years at the bedside, gaining hands-on experience and developing her expertise in acute and pediatric emergency care. Her early career also included roles as a Clinical Nurse Leader and emergency department educator, combining patient care with mentorship and team development.
Julia has served as the Director of Nursing for Emergency Services at Wellstar Douglas Hospital and currently holds the role of Clinical Nurse Practice Specialist at Wellstar Health System. In her current position, she supports nine emergency departments, focusing on practice, policy, and throughput improvement. A Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certified professional, Julia applies process improvement strategies to optimize nursing workflows, enhance efficiency, and ensure high-quality patient care. She is also certified as a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN), and Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN).
Committed to professional growth and leadership in nursing, Julia actively contributes to the nursing community through her memberships in the American Nurses Association, Georgia Nurses Association, Emergency Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau. She balances her demanding professional life with her roles as a wife and mother, bringing empathy, dedication, and efficiency to both her family and her patients. What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is the ability to make a meaningful impact in critical moments. Early on, I realized that I was drawn to emergency care because it allows me to provide high-quality care quickly, without the need to form long-term attachments, while still making a real difference in patients’ lives. This passion led me to emergency nursing at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and I’ve been dedicated to emergency care ever since.
