Judy Stephens, LPN

Judy Stephens is an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse whose career spans more than three decades of dedicated service in long-term care, wound care, hyperbaric therapy, hospice support, and staff education. Currently serving as an LPN Charge Nurse at Winthrop Health & Rehab, Judy brings deep expertise in wound management, infection control, staffing coordination, and clinical education. Her role centers on ensuring high-quality patient care while supporting clinical teams with the knowledge, resources, and leadership needed to meet regulatory standards and deliver compassionate service.

Before joining Winthrop Health & Rehab, Judy spent several impactful years at St. Vincent South Side Wound Care and Hyperbarics, where she played a vital role in administering hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Her work helped patients heal from complex wounds, late-effects radiation injuries, and other challenging conditions. During this time, she also provided hospice care with Envista Health, supporting patients and families through end-of-life transitions with empathy, comfort, and dignity. Earlier in her career, Judy gained extensive experience in home healthcare and long-term care, serving in roles such as Treatment Nurse, Staff Development Coordinator, and Infection Control Nurse—positions that strengthened her commitment to patient-centered care and continuous staff development.

Judy’s professional foundation began with her LPN training at Coosa Valley Vocational Technical School, where she graduated in 1987. She later expanded her knowledge base by completing coursework in Medical Billing and Coding at the Allen School of Health Science, maintaining Honor Roll standing throughout her studies. Recognized for her strong clinical skills in wound care and nursing, she continues to be relied upon for her leadership, compassion, and dedication to improving patient outcomes. With a lifelong commitment to helping others, Judy remains open to new opportunities to further serve patients and support healthcare teams in meaningful ways.
