Dr. Juan Gutierrez Mazorra, MD is a distinguished pediatric anesthesiologist with decades of experience providing comprehensive anesthesia and perioperative care for children. He currently serves as President of Pediatric Anesthesia Associates PC, overseeing the management of a group of pediatric anesthesiologists and ensuring the highest standards of care at the Children’s Hospital of Alabama. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Mazorra is a Clinical Professor of Anesthesia, Pediatrics, Pain Management, and Perioperative Care, sharing his expertise with medical residents and colleagues.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mazorra has held leadership roles in multiple institutions, including serving as OR Director at WVU Medical Center and as Chief of Anesthesia and OR Director at the Naval Submarine Medical Center. His extensive experience in operating room management, respiratory care, risk management, and legal medicine has made him a trusted consultant and expert in the field of pediatric anesthesia. He is widely recognized for his commitment to patient safety and his ability to mentor the next generation of anesthesiologists.
Dr. Mazorra’s academic foundation includes a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University, where he also participated in the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. Over his nearly five-decade career, he has received numerous accolades, including the Robert M.
