Jillian Greiner is a Registered Nurse with 18 years of clinical experience in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. She has built a diverse and impactful nursing career focused on providing care to patients in some of their most vulnerable moments. Her professional journey reflects a strong commitment to both acute clinical care and population health, with a specialized focus in trauma-informed nursing practice.

Greiner currently works as a forensic nurse, where she provides expert care to victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence, interpersonal violence, child abuse, and elder abuse. Her forensic nursing practice spans both adult and pediatric populations, and she is contracted to support Medical City Hospitals in delivering specialized, compassionate care during critical and sensitive cases. Her role requires a high level of clinical skill, emotional resilience, and interdisciplinary collaboration with law enforcement and healthcare teams.

Prior to her transition into forensic nursing, she gained extensive pediatric experience at leading institutions including Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth and Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. She also served in utilization management within the insurance sector as a consultant, where she evaluated hospital admissions and length-of-stay decisions based on clinical guidelines. This diverse background has provided her with a broad understanding of healthcare delivery from bedside care to system-level utilization review.

Greiner holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and began her academic journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotion from the University of North Texas. She is currently completing her Master of Public Health (MPH) at Baylor University, further strengthening her expertise in population health, prevention, and global health initiatives. Her academic progression reflects her dedication to lifelong learning and advancing healthcare outcomes.

Beyond her clinical and academic work, Greiner is driven by a deep commitment to caring for individuals during their most vulnerable experiences. Her professional mission is rooted in compassion, advocacy, and family influence, which continue to guide her career in nursing. Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about nursing is the opportunity to care for people when they are at their most vulnerable and in greatest need. I have always been drawn to helping others, and that has been the foundation of my career from the very beginning. I fell in love with pediatrics during my clinical rotations and have consistently worked with children in various capacities throughout my career, including earlier experiences in education and substitute teaching.

Over time, I developed a strong interest in both the human and investigative aspects of healthcare, which ultimately led me to forensic nursing. When I was presented with the opportunity to transition into forensic nursing, I was immediately drawn to it because it combined my passion for caring for vulnerable populations with my interest in the science and investigative side of medicine.
