Jerrell Jones
Jerrell is a dedicated physical therapy professional who earned his Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Surry Community College in Dobson, North Carolina, in 2023. Now in his third year of practice, he has built a strong foundation in rehabilitation care, combining clinical knowledge with hands-on experience. His education equipped him with the skills to support patients through recovery, restore mobility, and promote long-term functional independence.
Currently, Jerrell works in the rehabilitation department at Salem Town Retirement Center in Winston-Salem, where he helps residents regain strength and independence following surgery or medical setbacks. The community includes independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing services, with Jerrell focusing specifically on short-term rehab patients. Most individuals stay an average of two weeks, though recovery timelines vary. His primary goal is to help each patient return to their prior level of function as safely and efficiently as possible, ensuring they feel confident and prepared to transition back home.
Outside of his clinical role, Jerrell is a passionate fitness professional and entrepreneur. He co-owns GBE Fitness—short for “Get Better Everyday Fitness”—with his cousin, and the gym is approaching its sixth year in operation. As a certified personal trainer with youth training credentials, he specializes in athletic development and youth performance training. The renovated warehouse-style facility features turf space, weightlifting equipment, and cardio areas designed to support a wide range of training needs. A former youth football coach of six years, Jerrell now channels his passion into helping young athletes build strength, confidence, and discipline, taking pride in guiding the next generation to excel in their sports and beyond.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I enjoy helping folks come in to the rehab and get them back to their prior level of function. My goal is always to get my patients as independent and safe as possible. It's my passion, and I enjoy it, so even though it wasn't easy, it's something I enjoy, so to me, it's worth it. I also thoroughly enjoy helping the younger generation be the best they can be in their respective sports through the athletic training we do at our gym. I was just an athlete overall and I love it, and my hobby now is helping the kids with their athletic training.
