Jennifer L. Zimmer, MACC, LPC

Jennifer Zimmer (she/her) is the owner and therapist at Soul Sessions Psychotherapy, where she provides compassionate, client-centered care rooted in authenticity, creativity, and connection. Based in Texas, Jennifer holds a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling from Houston Christian University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate through the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council and brings a deeply human approach to therapy, shaped by both her formal training and rich life experience.

Before entering the counseling field, Jennifer spent over 15 years in the hair industry, where listening to people’s stories and building trust laid the foundation for her therapeutic work. During graduate school, she transitioned into education, teaching and working closely with children—an experience that confirmed her passion for supporting young clients through creative, developmentally informed approaches. Her clinical internship took place at a shelter serving survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault during the height of the pandemic, where she gained extensive experience in individual counseling, group facilitation, psychoeducation, creative modalities, and telemental health while adapting ethically and effectively to unprecedented challenges.

Jennifer specializes in working with children and adults, particularly high-achieving, high-masking individuals who experience anxiety, burnout, and neurodivergent traits such as ADHD and ASD. Her work often focuses on reducing anxiety by addressing underlying patterns including people-pleasing, codependency, boundary challenges, and the search for belonging. Through guided self-discovery, Jennifer meets clients where they are and supports them in reconnecting with themselves, recentering their lives, and rewriting the stories they carry forward.
