Jennifer Zimmer (she/her) is the owner and therapist at Soul Sessions Psychotherapy, where she offers compassionate, client-centered care grounded in authenticity, creativity, and connection. She is dually licensed in Texas and Oregon and is based in Oregon. Jennifer holds a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling from Houston Baptist University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in both states and brings a deeply human, integrative approach to therapy shaped by her formal training and lived experience.

Before entering the counseling field, Jennifer spent more than 20 years in the hair industry, where listening closely to people’s stories, building trust, and holding space for transformation became the foundation of her therapeutic presence. During graduate school, she transitioned into education, teaching and working closely with children. Although she loved connecting with young people, she recognized a deeper need to support parents and adults, leading her to focus her clinical work on adult populations.

Jennifer completed her clinical internship at a shelter serving survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this challenging environment, she gained extensive experience in individual counseling, group facilitation, psychoeducation, creative therapeutic modalities, and telemental health, while learning to adapt ethically and effectively under unprecedented circumstances.

Jennifer specializes in working with adults—particularly high-achieving, high-masking women experiencing anxiety, burnout, and neurodivergent traits such as ADHD and ASD. Her work often centers on reducing anxiety by addressing underlying patterns, including people-pleasing, codependency, boundary challenges, and the search for belonging. Through guided self-discovery, she meets clients where they are and supports them in reconnecting with themselves, recentering their lives, and rewriting the stories they carry forward.
