Today, she serves with Heritage Christian Services, where she applies her extensive knowledge to support individuals and improve care outcomes.

Throughout her career, Jennifer has worked across a wide range of specialties, including hospice, pediatrics, trauma, psychiatric care, and community health. She is especially passionate about working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, an area that holds personal significance and has shaped her compassionate approach to care. In addition to her clinical work, she has trained and mentored others, sharing her knowledge to strengthen healthcare teams and elevate patient care standards.

Jennifer’s work is deeply rooted in purpose and empathy, driven by the belief that even small acts of care can profoundly impact someone’s life. She is actively engaged in community and public health efforts, including research and education surrounding vaccinations, ensuring that accurate and reliable information reaches those who need it most. As she looks toward the future, Jennifer is considering transitioning into private practice, where she hopes to continue making a meaningful difference by combining her clinical expertise, leadership skills, and unwavering dedication to improving patient outcomes.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about nursing is the ability to change someone's day or even save a life. My personal motto has always been that if you can change one person's day or save a life, that's what truly matters. This philosophy was born from my own experience when my second son was born prematurely and I encountered a nurse who might have just been having a bad day. That moment made me realize I wanted to be the kind of nurse who could change that experience for others. I'm most passionate about working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities because I've had to learn to work with one myself, which gives me a unique perspective and deep commitment to this population. Having worked in almost every area of healthcare over nearly 30 years, from being a CNA right out of high school to working in hospice, pediatrics, trauma, and psych fields, I've learned that the most rewarding part is making a meaningful difference in each patient's experience.
