Dr. Jason Ogiste is a board-certified urologist with nearly 20 years of experience specializing in neuro-urology, pelvic floor reconstructive surgery, and female urology. Born in Grenada and raised in New York City, Dr. Ogiste earned his medical degree from University of Rochester in 2000 before completing his residency training at Columbia University in 2005. He went on to complete a highly competitive fellowship in neuro-urology and pelvic floor reconstructive surgery at Columbia in 2006, where he trained in advanced techniques that continue to shape his patient-centered approach to care. Today, he is recognized as the only fellowship-trained female urologist in the Berkshires region, providing highly specialized expertise to patients across Western Massachusetts.
Dr. Ogiste has been with Berkshire Health Systems for approximately six years and currently serves as Medical Director of Surgical Subspecialties, overseeing surgical departments including surgery, ENT, and urology. His commitment to improving healthcare delivery led him to pursue an Executive Master’s degree from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University mid-career, expanding his focus from individual patient care to system-wide physician leadership and healthcare innovation. In addition to his clinical and leadership roles, Dr. Ogiste is affiliated with Berkshire Medical Center and North Adams Regional Hospital. He is also an active member of organizations including the American Urological Association, the National Medical Association, and the Medical Society of Endo-urology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ogiste has remained passionate about education, advocacy, and community outreach. He has published extensively in medical journals, participated in Grand Rounds and public lectures, and contributed to radio programming focused on men’s health, including the New York-based show “A Healthier You.” Following the pandemic, Dr. Ogiste and his family relocated from New York City to the Berkshires in search of a more balanced lifestyle rooted in nature, family, and community. Guided by the belief that even one meaningful interaction can change a person’s life, he approaches each day with the goal of making a positive impact on his patients and the healthcare system as a whole.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I get up in the morning and I say, all I want to do today is to positively affect and change just one person's outlook today. And I get up the next day and say the same thing. That's my guide and what I'm passionate about - just looking forward to being able to do something positive in someone's lives. As someone in my position who can affect that, I see it as a privilege to be able to do that. Most people in the world don't get a chance to be able to affect other people's lives that way. That's what brings me pride and happiness.
