James Carr, RN
James Carr, RN, BSN, CFRN, has been a dedicated healthcare professional since 2006, bringing nearly two decades of experience to his nursing career. He currently serves as the inpatient manager for the cath lab at WW Hastings within the Cherokee Nation Health System. In this role, James oversees a team of approximately 20 employees, managing duty assignments, staff education, and the day-to-day operations of the department. He is passionate about creating a positive workplace culture and fostering professional growth among his team members.
Before transitioning into nursing, James built a distinguished career as a paramedic and flight nurse. He began as an EMT in 1991 and earned his paramedic certification in 1995, later joining aeromedical EMS in 1999. For over two decades, he served as a dual-license flight nurse and paramedic, gaining extensive experience in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations that shaped his expertise in critical care and cardiology. His hands-on experience in emergency care continues to inform his approach to patient care in the cath lab.
James earned his BSN from the University of Phoenix in 2024, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He attributes much of his professional success to the mentors and educators who guided him early in his career, emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning and continuous improvement. Looking ahead, James is committed to furthering his education, expanding his leadership capabilities, and contributing to the development of advanced cardiac care within his hospital system.
