Before transitioning fully into nursing, James built a distinguished career in emergency and aeromedical services. He began as an EMT in 1991, earned his paramedic certification in 1995, and joined aeromedical EMS in 1999. For over twenty years, he served as a dual-licensed flight nurse and paramedic, gaining extensive experience in high-acuity, time-sensitive environments. These years of frontline service shaped his expertise in critical care and cardiology, and continue to inform his leadership style and patient-centered approach in the Cath Lab.
James earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2024, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He credits much of his professional success to the mentors and educators who guided him early in his career, instilling in him a commitment to lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
