Jacob Torres
Jacob Torres is a dedicated healthcare companion based in Mays Landing, New Jersey, currently serving clients through Biata Home Health Care. Since beginning his companion work in January 2020, Jacob has provided hands-on support to individuals with disabilities, assisting with activities of daily living, transportation, meal preparation, hygiene, and meaningful community engagement. His work centers on building strong, supportive relationships while promoting dignity and independence for every client he serves.
Jacob’s professional philosophy emphasizes community integration and overall well-being. He regularly accompanies clients on outings such as bowling, movies, and gym visits, and assists with transportation to and from work and other commitments. Through consistent weekend and weekly visits, he fosters social engagement and ensures his clients remain active, connected, and supported in their daily lives. Over the years, he has worked with multiple clients and currently provides ongoing care to two individuals.
In addition to his professional work, Jacob is a senior at Manor College pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, with plans to earn a Master of Business Administration. He is a member of the Theta Kappa honor society and has been recognized as a finalist at his college for his contributions both inside and outside the classroom. Jacob is committed to continued growth—both academically and professionally—while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those he supports.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most about working in healthcare is helping individuals who may struggle remain active and engaged in their daily lives. Supporting their independence and encouraging them to participate in their communities is incredibly rewarding. I’m also deeply motivated by my family, leadership, and responsibility—I strive to set a positive example for my younger siblings and to be someone they can rely on, both personally and professionally.
