Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is the opportunity to serve people during their most vulnerable moments. In the critical care setting, patients and families are facing life-altering situations, and being able to advocate for them while delivering precise, evidence-based care is both a profound responsibility and an honor. As an ICU nurse, you often serve as a vital link between crisis and recovery, providing not only advanced clinical support but also reassurance, compassion, and stability amid uncertainty. Knowing that your skill, vigilance, and commitment can help a patient make it through the day—or the night—is what makes this work deeply meaningful.
