What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is being actively involved in my patients’ care and supporting them through challenging transitions. Working as an RN at the bedside allowed me to provide hands-on care and spend meaningful time with patients and their families during critical moments, especially when they were facing serious illness or grief. I wanted to ensure that no one had to navigate those transitions alone.
After several years at the bedside, I sought to expand my impact by practicing at the provider level, where I could have a greater role in care planning and treatment decisions. Becoming a nurse practitioner allowed me to continue delivering hands-on care while also contributing to the medical decision-making process, ensuring that my patients receive comprehensive, compassionate, and thoughtful care.
