Ijeoma Tagbo, DMD, FAGD
Dr. Ijeoma Tagbo, DMD, is a dedicated dentist whose career was inspired by positive childhood dental experiences rooted in comfort, compassion, and trust. From an early age, she developed a love for working with her hands and a desire to pursue a career in healthcare, which ultimately led her to dentistry. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Goldman School of Dentistry at Boston University and completed a general practice residency at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, where she refined her clinical skills and patient-centered approach to care.
Following her residency, Dr. Tagbo completed an advanced fellowship at Temple University before beginning her professional practice in Maine. When her husband, Austin, accepted a hospitalist position in Maryland, she embraced the opportunity to open her own practice and founded Shore Family Dental. Her commitment to excellence is reflected in her active involvement with several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the Academy of General Dentistry, where she holds Fellowship status. She is also a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a prestigious dental honor society, underscoring her dedication to lifelong learning and clinical excellence.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Tagbo is deeply committed to giving back to the community, particularly through initiatives that support and uplift children both locally and internationally. She values family life in Maryland, where she and her husband are raising their two children in a community they love for its culture and quality of life. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Tagbo is passionate about the arts and enjoys traveling with her family, as well as dancing, music, and painting. An artist at heart, she brings creativity, warmth, and joy into both her personal life and her practice, finding her greatest reward in the smiles of her patients.
