What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
Being able to have the difficult end-of-life conversations with both patients and families, is a sacred gift that has allowed me to provide compassionate and exceptional end of life care. During my 26 years of nursing, I have had the honor of working in the emergency department, post- op recovery, neurology and stroke care; but it has been hospice care that has truly molded me into a servant leader. A servant leader cares for not only patients and families, but also for co-workers and for anyone whose path they cross. It is a responsibility that I embrace, and as I continue to grow both professionally, I pray that beacon of compassionate care, continues to light my path.
