Heather Callahan, PA-C
Heather Callahan, PA-C is a Board-Certified Dermatology Physician Assistant with a comprehensive background in medical, surgical, and aesthetic dermatology. Practicing medicine since 2016, she specializes in dermatology and aesthetic medicine, blending a deep understanding of skin at every layer with artistic precision. Heather’s expertise spans general dermatologic care, in-office surgical procedures, and advanced cosmetic treatments including Botox, dermal fillers, microneedling, PRP therapies, and laser procedures. In August 2025, she founded Skin Deep Concierge Medicine, which has grown from a staff of two to six in just six months, reflecting her patient-centered approach and commitment to high-quality care.
What sets Heather apart is her strong foundation in medical dermatology—a rare combination among aesthetic injectors. She is a Diplomate Fellow through the Society of Dermatology Physician Associates (SDPA), a highly specialized 2–3 year training program designed specifically for dermatology physician assistants while practicing full-time. Heather’s approach is uniquely patient-focused, emphasizing long-term relationships and personalized care. Many of her patients have been with her throughout her career, viewing visits as more than appointments—they are reconnecting with a trusted clinician who understands both their skin and their confidence. Her artistry and attention to detail, rooted in her lifelong passion for hair, skin, and nails, combine scientific precision with aesthetic skill.
Beyond her clinical practice, Heather is a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) for innovative aesthetic technologies. She currently serves as a KOL for AgeJet, training clinicians, conducting demos, and advising on device use and complications, and has recently signed on with Aura, an AI imaging technology for skin quality assessment. Heather’s work is deeply personal, informed by her own experiences with self-esteem and body image, and she treats every patient with the utmost trust, care, and respect. She is committed to enhancing not just appearances, but confidence, well-being, and long-term skin health.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most is the deeply personal nature of what I do and the relationships I build with my patients. I very much have a heart for people, and that's always been my personality. I feel tremendously blessed that I have patients who have been with me literally my entire career. When patients come for a visit, it's like seeing extended family or catching up with an old friend - whether they come every month or just once or twice a year. The culture at Skin Deep was really by design to create that feeling. I love that I can help patients with anything skin-wise, whether it's a concerning mole or something they want to enhance aesthetically. I also do wellness and weight loss, so I can offer comprehensive care. Everything I do is deeply, deeply personal to me. I've struggled with my own self-esteem and body dysmorphia, so I understand how profoundly appearance affects confidence. I take it with the utmost seriousness and privilege that someone trusts me to potentially alter or enhance their physical appearance. I can't picture being in a place where I'm not practicing - I love what I do and I love my patients. So many of them have been on this ride with me, and that means everything.
