Gwendolyn R. Monroe, CNA, HHA

Gwendolyn R. Monroe is a compassionate and experienced Certified Nursing Assistant and Hospice Health Aide who has dedicated more than 12 years to providing exceptional patient care in the Oakland, California area. She earned her CNA certification from Edward Shands Adult School in 2006 and has since built a career grounded in empathy, dignity, and service. Over the years, Gwendolyn has become known for her gentle bedside manner and her unwavering commitment to ensuring patients feel respected, comfortable, and supported during vulnerable moments in their lives.

Throughout her career, Gwendolyn has been affiliated with Sutter Health and has specialized in hospice care through her work with AccentCare Hospice. After completing extensive safety training and continuing education courses, she earned her hospice aide certification, further strengthening her ability to care for patients and families during end-of-life transitions. Always striving to grow professionally, she has completed her medical assistant coursework and is currently preparing to take the state examination, expanding her clinical knowledge and skill set to better serve her community.

Inspired by her mother’s career in nursing and her father’s military service, Gwendolyn approaches her work with both compassion and discipline. She credits her faith as the foundation of her strength, sharing that she stays prayed up and asks God daily to guide her in helping others feel better. Outside of her professional life, Gwendolyn finds joy in cooking and cherishes spending quality time with her two grandchildren, who are a constant source of pride and happiness in her life.
