Guillermo Jordan Diaz, MD

Dr. Guillermo Jordan Diaz has devoted more than five decades to the field of orthopedic surgery, building a career defined by service, skill, and unwavering dedication to his patients. He earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 1965 and completed his internship and residency at the Puerto Rico Medical Center, where he also pursued fellowship training in trauma. This year marks his 50th anniversary as an orthopedic surgeon—a remarkable milestone that reflects a lifetime commitment to advancing musculoskeletal care and restoring mobility to countless patients.

Before beginning his orthopedic residency, Dr. Jordan Diaz served as a flight surgeon during the Vietnam War, where he uniquely combined his passion for aviation with medicine. Originally aspiring to become a pilot but unable to do so due to vision requirements, he found the perfect calling as a flight surgeon. During his service, he flew 106 combat missions, gaining invaluable experience under high-pressure conditions that would later shape his calm, disciplined approach to surgery and patient care. His journey into medicine was deeply influenced by his father’s compassionate work with individuals with disabilities at a Vocational Rehabilitation Agency—an early example of service that continues to guide his professional philosophy.

Today, Dr. Jordan Diaz practices as an orthopedic surgeon at Hospital Auxilio San Pablo in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he focuses primarily on hip and knee surgery. He previously served as Chief of Orthopedic Service at the same institution and remains board certified in arthroscopy and microscopic surgery. An active member of both the Puerto Rico Society of Orthopedic Surgery and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Jordan Diaz continues to exemplify surgical excellence, leadership, and a lifelong dedication to healing.
