Gregory Steinbrenner, MBA, MS
Gregory Steinbrenner is an accomplished healthcare leader with over 15 years of progressive experience in clinical performance measurement, healthcare administration, and research management. As Manager of Clinical Performance Measurement at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), he provides strategic oversight and analytical expertise to ensure that decisions about the quality of clinical care for the nation’s Veterans are data-driven and evidence-based. Gregory leads a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and analysts dedicated to measuring, reporting, and improving healthcare quality across the VHA’s nationwide system.
In his current role, Gregory oversees key initiatives such as CMS Hospital Compare reporting, MISSION Act Quality Standards, and quality transparency projects showcased on the VHA’s Access to Care website. His leadership emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and innovation, working closely with diverse stakeholders including VHA program offices, senior leadership, healthcare systems, researchers, and federal partners. Prior to his current position, he held several leadership roles within the VA Maryland Health Care System, where he guided quality, safety, and performance initiatives across multiple medical centers and community-based outpatient clinics.
Gregory holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Delaware, and a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Administration and Management from the University of Baltimore/Towson University. A member of the Beta Gamma Sigma National Business Honor Society and former member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Gregory is committed to advancing healthcare quality and outcomes through data transparency, operational excellence, and patient-centered care.
