Dr. Gavin Wilson is a pharmacy leader whose career bridges clinical practice, research, and health system innovation. He holds a PharmD from Drake University, an MBA and Master of Healthcare Administration from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, and a PhD in Social and Administrative Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota. Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy, Dr. Wilson brings deep expertise in medication management and clinical decision-making, underpinned by an exceptional academic foundation.

Since beginning his pharmacy practice in 2012, Dr. Wilson has held roles combining patient care with system-level oversight. His early years included research and teaching at the University of Minnesota, where he supported future pharmacists through classroom instruction, grading, proctoring, and accreditation activities. These experiences strengthened his commitment to evidence-based practice and fostered a long-standing interest in workforce well-being. His research has addressed key issues such as pharmacist burnout and the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program, reflecting a dedication to both patient outcomes and professional sustainability.

Currently serving as Clinical Program Manager for government programs, Dr. Wilson oversees clinical drug initiatives, evaluating new medications for safety, efficacy, and formulary inclusion while ensuring cost stewardship. He also plays a crucial role in preventing issues related to harmful medications and in identifying fraud, waste, and abuse. Throughout his career, Dr. Wilson has demonstrated a consistent drive to support patients, colleagues, and healthcare systems through leadership, research, and clinical expertise, making him a forward-looking professional in the field today.
