Fang K. Chen, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac.
Fang Chen, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac. (NCCAOM), is a highly respected Licensed Acupuncturist and practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), leading Chen's Acupuncture and Massage Center in Portland, Oregon. With over three decades of experience in the healing arts, he is committed to providing holistic, patient-centered care that addresses the root causes of ailments rather than simply treating symptoms. Fang’s expertise spans a wide range of conditions, including musculoskeletal and nervous system disorders, chronic pain, central nervous system challenges, respiratory and endocrine disorders, and lifestyle-related health concerns.
Fang Chen began his journey in healing at Wuhan Physical Education Institute, earning a Bachelor’s in Physical Education in 1984, followed by a second Bachelor’s in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medicine University in 1988. He honed his skills under the mentorship of esteemed Chinese acupuncturists, including Professors Dengqi Wang and Guikang Wei, and earned advanced certification in acupuncture and moxibustion in Beijing in 1990. Seeking to integrate Eastern and Western approaches to health, he completed a Master’s in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 1997, solidifying his expertise and holistic approach to patient care.
Throughout his career, Fang Chen has maintained a philosophy that healing involves mind, body, and spirit. He is recognized for his personalized treatment plans using modalities such as acupuncture, electroacupuncture, cupping, Gua Sha, Tui Na, and medical Qi Gong to restore energy flow and overall wellness. His dedication has earned him the Outstanding Chinese American Achievement Award (2012–2013), and he continues to guide patients toward improved health and vitality while reducing reliance on medications and unnecessary interventions.
