Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about nursing is being able to take the time with patients who need discharge education or just need to talk. That's what virtual nursing really allowed me to do. The bedside nurses have four patients and so many tasks to complete, but as a virtual nurse, I actually have the time to provide that patient education and human interaction that patients need and deserve. I received so much feedback from both nurses and patients about how grateful and thankful they were that I could take those tasks away from the bedside nurse's busy day and really spend quality time with the patients. It's about providing that human connection and making sure patients get the care and attention they need, not just rushing through tasks. That's what drives me in nursing.
