Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

I love that I can get to interact with other cultures and learn more about people and how they respond to stressful circumstances. I'm learning how to not take things personally, and it makes me more patient and kind. Being a nurse has helped me become less judgmental. For example, when you go out to a crowded area and you see someone acting erratic, most people would judge that situation and say they're crazy, but I look at it like maybe they're dealing with something that we don't know. I have more compassion towards that person. I don't know what's going on with them, maybe they are sick, maybe they're in pain, maybe there's an underlying issue. I feel like nursing has helped me respond better to stressful environments, even in my own personal life when I'm not at work. I do not have any regrets about becoming a nurse.
