Edina Carlile-Morgan, PharmD
Dr. Edina Carlile-Morgan, PharmD, serves as Director of Pharmacy at Monacan Health Pharmacy in Lynchburg, Virginia, a position she has held since September 2024. She opened the doors of the new outpatient Indian Health Service facility on February 9, 2025, providing pharmacy services to underserved Native populations through in-person dispensing, mail order, and retail quote agreement pharmacies. Dr. Carlile-Morgan earned both her bachelor's degree and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Washington State University, where she conducted research on hyperbaric oxygen therapy for chronic pain management in the pharmaceutical sciences department. She is licensed to practice pharmacy in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana, and holds certification as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist. A passionate advocate for public health, Dr. Carlile-Morgan is a certified Naloxone Master Trainer and regularly leads community education initiatives on opioid overdose prevention and medication safety, including training volunteer firefighters in the Black Eagle area of Great Falls and hosting public classes twice per year. She previously served as Director of Pharmacy for the Little Shaw Tribe and remains an active member of the Washington State Pharmacy Association. Her professional focus combines clinical expertise with community advocacy, emphasizing accessible care and evidence-based pharmacy practice for underserved populations. Within her organization, Dr. Carlile-Morgan is known for her leadership style that emphasizes fairness, work-life balance, and empowerment of her team to fully utilize their compensation and benefits. Dr. Carlile-Morgan published a research paper during her first year of pharmacy school on the anxiolytic effects of hyperbaric oxygen exposure. The research explored the potential use of hyperbaric oxygen as an alternative treatment for anxiety instead of benzodiazepines or other controlled substances. This work was conducted as part of her hyperbaric oxygen research in the pharmaceutical sciences department at Washington State University under the mentorship of Dr. Kwok, where she investigated the use of hyperbaric oxygen for chronic pain management.
