Douglas Lemmone
Douglas Lemmone is a highly experienced pharmacist with more than 35 years in the field, having begun his career in 1987 after earning his degree from St. John's University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. His professional journey spans multiple sectors of pharmacy, including retail, mail-order, and executive leadership. Early in his career, he worked in retail pharmacy before transitioning to a role with Merck Medco, where he contributed to one of the largest mail-order pharmacy operations in the United States, supporting large-scale prescription fulfillment programs.
Douglas spent the majority of his career—approximately two decades—with General Nutrition Centers, where he advanced to Senior Director and General Manager for Regulatory Affairs. In this executive role, he led international efforts to secure regulatory approvals for dietary supplements, vitamins, minerals, and herbal products, working with agencies comparable to the U.S. FDA. He collaborated cross-functionally with product development, quality control, and labeling teams to ensure product safety, compliance, and market readiness across global markets. His expertise in formulation, ingredient analysis, and regulatory standards played a critical role in maintaining product integrity and expanding international reach.
More recently, Douglas contributed to retail operations with CVS Health, where he spent several years opening and closing store locations before transitioning into his current role as a Supervising Pharmacist. Today, he is focused on launching and organizing a new community pharmacy, overseeing operations, product selection, and customer engagement. In addition to his professional work, Douglas is authoring a book on the top 100 prescribed medications in the United States, aimed at providing accessible, practical knowledge for both healthcare professionals and the general public.
