Diane M. Carbo, RN
Diane Carbo is a registered nurse with over 54 years of experience and the founder of Caregiver Relief LLC, a platform dedicated to supporting family caregivers across the United States. Throughout her career, Diane has witnessed the growing public health crisis created by an aging population and the challenges family caregivers face, often acting as the invisible second patient. Motivated by these realities, she developed Caregiver Relief to provide practical tools, education, and resources that empower caregivers to deliver safe, effective, and sustainable care.
Through her organization, Diane has implemented a four-pronged approach to help caregivers manage their responsibilities while maintaining their own health. This approach focuses on setting boundaries, accessing compensation opportunities, creating collaborative care teams, and leveraging technology to ease the caregiving burden. Her work ensures that family caregivers—who provide $1.1 trillion in unpaid care annually—receive the support and recognition they deserve.
Diane is also a leading voice in caregiver education through her podcasts, which air three times daily and are ranked among the top 10 caregiver podcasts nationally. She offers both one-on-one and group coaching, as well as virtual care management, making her expertise accessible to caregivers who cannot leave home. Additionally, her “Ask the Experts” platform allows caregivers to receive timely, personalized guidance from her team.
A key focus of Diane’s work is helping adult children who care for narcissistic parents, providing strategies to navigate complex family dynamics while maintaining emotional and physical well-being. She is also producing a series on seniors and technology, educating both caregivers and older adults on practical tools that simplify daily care. Her work combines clinical knowledge, practical experience, and innovative solutions to reduce caregiver burnout and improve outcomes for both caregivers and care recipients.
Diane’s mission is fueled by the alarming statistic that 63% of family caregivers become seriously ill or die before the person they are caring for—a significant increase from 50% when she first launched her platform. Through Caregiver Relief LLC, she continues to advocate for caregiver recognition, education, and support, ensuring that these essential members of the healthcare ecosystem are no longer invisible but empowered, informed, and supported.
