Diana Ortega, BSN, RN
Diana Ortega, BSN, RN, is a passionate and dedicated nurse recognized as a 40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leader through the Illinois Nurses Foundation and the National Association of Hispanic Nurses. With experience spanning pediatric home health, hospital skilled care units, med-surg, telemetry, ortho-surgical, ICU, ER, and currently the Wound Care Clinic, Diana has built a versatile and impactful nursing career. She is committed to delivering compassionate care while navigating complex patient needs and fostering positive health outcomes.
In addition to her clinical work, Diana is an active leader and advocate in nursing. She currently serves as President-Elect of NAHN-Illinois and as a Director on the ANA-Illinois Board of Directors, where she works to influence healthcare policy, promote workforce diversity, and support nurses in advancing patient care. Diana was also selected for the inaugural Nurses Running for Elected Office (NREO) Training Academy, further reflecting her commitment to nurse-led advocacy and leadership.
Diana is pursuing her MSN in Leadership and Management at Western Governors University, with plans to further expand her impact on the profession. She balances her professional achievements with personal dedication, mentoring others, building collaborations across organizations, and serving as a role model for nurses aspiring to combine clinical excellence with leadership and advocacy.
